* See details from our SMHS track & field informational meeting. Here is a presentation from that meeting.

* If you need a uniform, you will order it directly from Boathouse before the season begins. The store will be open to place your order from December 26 to January 15 (closing at midnight). Orders will be shipped to FLBC President Mike Dobso. Check the store at this link and be sure to order during that window. There are no late orders!!! Each athlete will need four pieces -- the bundle of singlet, jacket, and track pants, and shorts (determined by your event -- see pg. 12 in PowerPoint presentation):

Male sprinters, jumpers, and vaulters -- purchase "compression shorts"

Male throwers -- purchase "field shorts"

Male distance runners -- purchase "distance shorts" (same as for cross-country season)

Female sprinters, jumpers, vaulters, and distance runners -- purchase "compression shorts"

Female throwers -- purchase "field shorts"

* Find registration documents here to print, complete, and bring to registration in January. Take these to Coach Chad Walker.

* If you need new training shoes or spikes, get on the list to have your size available at our Phidippides/Nike shoe and spike day, Sunday, February 4, at the SMHS track. (You will not be obligated to buy.)

* Be sure your athlete's physical paperwork is up to date through the school's main office.

Parents and fans, feel free to post your meet photos on the related meet pages at Ga Milesplit. It's a simple way to share the fun!

MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the Starr’s Mill High School Cross Country and Track & Field program is to provide a positive student-centered environment in which student athletes will fully participate in and gain valuable life-long lessons. We emphasize a commitment to excellence in the classroom as well as on the athletic fields. Team members will gain life-long lessons in sportsmanship, teamwork, ethical behavior, perseverance, commitment, loyalty, self-discipline, accomplishment, cooperation, healthy living, responsibility, and leadership skills.

PHILOSOPHY

Our philosophy is to create a competitive and character driven program for Starr’s Mill High School Cross Country and Track &Field program.  We hope that each athlete will remember how their experience made them a champion both on and off the field. The greatest rewards that athletes will gain on the team will be the rewards that come from being a part of a team. We want each runner to see the improvement that comes from consistent hard work and to value the importance of a commitment. We also want each athlete to know that he/she has achieved because of continued effort and dedication. Participating on an athletic team should be a wonderful experience from which each athlete can always look back and remember the lessons learned, friendships gained and goals achieved.
