The mission of the Starr’s Mill High School Cross Country and Track & Field program is to provide a positive student-centered environment in which student athletes will fully participate in and gain valuable life-long lessons. We emphasize a commitment to excellence in the classroom as well as on the athletic fields. Team members will gain life-long lessons in sportsmanship, teamwork, ethical behavior, perseverance, commitment, loyalty, self-discipline, accomplishment, cooperation, healthy living, responsibility, and leadership skills.
Our philosophy is to create a competitive and character driven program for Starr’s Mill High School Cross Country and Track &Field program. We hope that each athlete will remember how their experience made them a champion both on and off the field. The greatest rewards that athletes will gain on the team will be the rewards that come from being a part of a team. We want each runner to see the improvement that comes from consistent hard work and to value the importance of a commitment. We also want each athlete to know that he/she has achieved because of continued effort and dedication. Participating on an athletic team should be a wonderful experience from which each athlete can always look back and remember the lessons learned, friendships gained and goals achieved.

TRACK & FIELD SEASON IS HERE!
For those of you who were unable to make it to registration, you are still able to register before Monday, January 14, 2019 which is the first day of practice. Some of you may still be involved in a winter sport, but we still need for you to register for track before January 14th. You may bring your completed registration forms (printed as 5 single-sided pages) and payment to Coach Chad Walker's office in the gym, anytime throughout the day.

As a reminder, all athletes must have a current sports physical on file with the school BEFORE you will be allowed to practice. All sports physicals should be turned into Terri Watkins, our athletic secretary, in the front office of SMHS.
The Boathouse online uniform store closes at 11:59pm (PST) on Monday, January 14th, 2019. All athletes need to order a warm-up suit and shorts (specific to each event in which they will compete). If you already have these items from last season, you do not need to order anything from Boathouse. The new singlets will be ordered separately and are included in the registration fee.
